Consolidate Critical Messaging on Smartphones
The prevalence of Smartphones in hospitals is bringing about fundamental changes—and new possibilities—in the ways we communicate.
Physicians, nurses, and administrators consolidate critical and non-critical messages with a single Smartphone, eliminating the need for multiple devices while simplifying the day-to-day interactions among staff members.

Amcom Mobile Connect, is a revolutionary solution that enables clinicians and administrators to use a BlackBerry®, iPhone®, or Android™ device for all messages, including critical codes. Amcom offers the only solution on the market that allows messages to be generated by those using operator consoles, Web-based directories, emergency notification systems, and speech recognition applications. Amcom Mobile Connect enables critical messaging, including full two-way communication, between someone using one of these applications and a mobile physician, nurse, or other staff member carrying a Smartphone.
- Send a communication to the appropriate person, track the device's receipt
of it, and capture the response or action taken by the recipient.
- System intelligence that ensures the right information is sent to the right person on the right device at the right time.
- Differentiates critical communications from non-urgent updates because they are automatically separated on the Smartphone’s screen.
- Product development plan includes adding support for several other popular Smartphones used in hospitals today. Release date Q1 2011
- Integrates with Amcom's On-Call Scheduling software
- Rapid paging from the on-call schedule reduces paging time and increases staff response, which is critical in patient care.
- Easy access to all hospital employees, you can look up on-call information from any in-house PC that is connected to your corporate Intranet, without entering an additional password.
- Reduced total labour time required to maintain on-call schedules.
- Password-authorized department schedulers, as well as operators, can enter on-call schedules in advance and perform daily updates as needed.
- On-call schedules stored in one centralized database.
- The Amcom user interface is easy to use and linked in real time to your call center data and HR system.

Modular Messaging System
Commtech Fusion
A scalable, modular messaging system developed to cater to the under-represented market between desktop paging and high-level software mess aging systems.
The Fusion Series comprises of a number of modules that provide alarm monitoring, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Quad Band GSM/CDMA SMS (Text) Messaging, and a range of protocol converters.
Fusion integrates with a number of wireless telephony products, including KIRK DECT & SpectraLink Wi-Fi wireless telephone systems, to produce communications systems of unrivalled capabilities embracing the advanced features of DECT and Wi-Fi handsets, enabling message confirmation, call escalation, and voice communications. When integrated with messaging systems from Commtech Wireless, cordless telephones can receive text messages via messaging software from alarms, call points, slot machines, fire alarms, building management systems, and more. In addition, users can dial in to the messaging software and send messages to recipients such as pagers and email addresses.
Automated Message Distribution
Commtech Messenger
Commtech Messenger delivers mission-critical communication for mobile staff and first responder personnel. In distributing time-sensitive information to most commercially available wireless or wired devices, levels of productivity, safety, service, and quality are enhanced. Human operators are able to easily dispatch real-time messages, and machines are enabled with the ability to automate the distribution of messages based upon out-of-tolerance conditions.
Virtually any 3rd party system can be integrated to Commtech Messenger to automate and centralize the data from disparate islands of information. Multiple protocols are supported "off-the-shelf" such as TAP, COMP and SMTP. Additionally, flexible scripting interfaces are available, and connectivity to legacy hardwired applications are enabled by the Fusion Series Alarm Dispatch Module (ADM).
With a configurable rules engine, the analysis of data inputs to Commtech Messenger results in "intelligent" connectivity with enterprise systems. Out-of-tolerance alarm conditions and critical events are automatically routed to communication devices to ensure rapid response. Nuisance alarms are filtered out to ensure desensitization does not occur with busy mobile responders. Message escalation can be forced manually from a device or can be based on timed settings to ensure that critical alarms and events are responded to in an effective and efficient manner.
Utilizing an easy to use, web-based software interface, Commtech Messenger provides dispatchers with an intuitive method to distribute information to individuals, groups, departments, and the entire enterprise. With a modular architecture, enabling the PBX interface option or adding the Fusion Series Telephone Interface Module (TIM) provides the distribution of manual messages via a standard telephone touch pad with the help of simple voice prompts.
